Shelfery AI Context

This document summarizes the essential context an AI agent needs to work on Shelfery. It is a summary, not a substitute for reading the underlying documents — see docs/ai/context-loading.md for the required reading order.

What Shelfery is

Shelfery is an early-stage, customer-facing venture of Devonshire Digital LLC. It is a home food-storage and pantry-management product intended to help households understand, organize, and use the food they have. No product specification, architecture, or release plan exists yet. See docs/strategy/venture-brief.md for the full known-facts / assumptions / open-questions breakdown.

Brand direction

Shelfery is developed as an independently identifiable brand — never as a product of any umbrella brand (no "DDLabs" or similar exists). The current working visual direction is warm, earthy, and household-oriented (terracotta, sage green, warm off-white, pantry/jar/shelf visual concepts), but this is provisional and not formally approved. See docs/strategy/brand-and-positioning.md.

Domain

The domain centers on households, storage locations (pantry, refrigerator, freezer), inventory items, quantities, and freshness estimates. See docs/domain/domain-concepts.md and docs/domain/glossary.md. Any content touching food freshness, storage, or safety is governed by docs/domain/trust-safety-and-food-claims.md, the most important domain document in this venture.

This document supplements, never weakens

This context, and everything else under ventures/shelfery/docs/ai/, supplements the company-wide AI rules under ../../../../docs/ai/. It cannot loosen, override, or create exceptions to any company-level AI policy. See ventures/shelfery/AGENTS.md and ../../../../docs/governance/authority-and-inheritance.md for the authority relationship between venture-level and company-level documentation.
